Our group had a wonderful time here. We were lucky to be one of the first groups to experience this serene space that was just newly renovated.
It was amazing to have the ocean views and sound of the ocean waves as a backdrop to our whole experience here.
There are multiple event spaces for movement practices throughout the property, from a stunning open-air rotunda room with ocean view, covered by a high dome cupola which hangs a beautiful celestial chandelier, to a yoga deck by the pool, a more secluded meditation deck, and a large rooftop open space with panoramic views of the surrounding ocean and jungle.
The exquisite attention to detail creates a very cohesive and joyful space. From the colorful playful talavera tiles that greet you upon entry and up the stairs, to the blown glassware and the hand painted dishes at mealtime, there is a sense of vibrancy and Mexican flair done well.
The space feels very luxurious and welcoming with its commitment to natural materials such as the mix of marble and Saltillo floors tiles, quartzite counters, parota wood furniture, onyx wall sconces, and hand woven rugs.
The lush jungle landscape on the property nestles a delicious salt water pool. A poolside hammock under the palm trees was one of my personal favorite spots. There are many beautiful spaces to sit, hammock, lounge and chill designed throughout the property.
The whole place is on a filtered alkaline water system! So you can drink right out of the tap.
Alma Vida is very conveniently located with an easy 15-minute walk into town, along the beach. San Pancho is a vibrant and fun little beach town with lots of restaurants, shops, and vendors.
We had lots of yummy food by Chef Max up on the rooftop dining, where we watched sunsets and star gazed. A culinary highlight was the delicious Indian dinner she prepared one night. Chef Max was awesome, accommodating our groups diverse dietary needs and requests.
We also were blessed to experience a magical evening sound bath. The acoustics of the rotunda room and the dome above really made all of the sounds resonate and penetrate.
I hope to check out the onsite Temescal (sweat lodge) sacred cleansing ritual offering next time, and I’m already looking for dates in 2025 to bring my next yoga and meditation retreat. We look forward to returning and hosting future retreats here, again and again. San Pancho is an amazing town for arts and healing and I can see Alma Vida quickly becoming an epicenter of it.
This place is an absolute gem!!! Can’t recommend it enough!!!
